Sonora Prevention Works
On February 10th, staff at El Centro Café and Community Center attended a Community Overdose Prevention, Recognition, and Response Training, offered by Sonoran Prevention Works with Samantha and Jackie.
We are now able to offer naloxone to members of our community. It is important for naloxone to be available in rural areas, because responding to an overdose quickly is imperative to saving lives. In 2016, legislation was passed in Arizona that allows any community member to obtain and carry naloxone and Arizonans do not require a prescription to access naloxone.
If you would like to carry naloxone, please speak to one of the members of our staff or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
We also have educational materials about the services that Sonoran Prevention Works offers available for our community. Learn more about Sonoran Prevention Works at spwaz.org You will find resources as well as information about their upcoming trainings.
Thank you Samantha and Jackie, for teaching us life-saving skills for the benefit of our community!
