MuSICA SIN FRONTERAS
The Binational Chorus “Música Sin Fronteras”, founded in 2005, whose singers come from both sides of the border, has performed in Bisbee, Douglas, and Sierra Vista, Arizona and in Agua Prieta, Naco, Cananea, Hermosillo, Magdalena, Nogales, Huachinera, and Ures, Sonora. They also toured Panama City and Havana, Cuba in 2012. The Chorus is a project of the Binational Arts Institute.
The choir, in its unique, varied and full repertoire offers challenging rhythms and music from several languages including English, Spanish, and some indigenous dialects. It includes colonial choral settings from Latin America as well as Negro Spirituals and Mexican Folk Songs. Dr. Keyne has a classical training in harpsichord but also an expressive, adventuresome interest in newer choral works.
